So what's the deal? I know the 4th gen TL isn't really considered the most attractive, but is there anything I need to watch out for if I wanted to buy one? I'm not against buying a higher mileage car if it's accident-free, but are there common failures that could really hurt my wallet? I've never owned a Honda / Acura so I don't know much about maintenance schedule but I've been able to keep my current GM car on the road for 250k miles doing all the wrenching myself, so I'd hope the Acura would be similar.ĮDIT: Something I just realized is that the manual transmission only comes with the 3.7L V6 and the SH-AWD system, how do those cars compare to FWD variants? Manual-equipped cars aren't common, but clean cars seem to be listed at pretty reasonable prices by today's standards ($15-20k). It sounds dumb, but I learned how to drive in my dad's 2010 Honda Accord V6/6-speed Coupe, which I'm pretty sure has a very similar powertrain, and I really miss that car (he traded it in without telling me years ago).įor practical reasons I can't really get away with a coupe anymore so I've been looking at the TL, but it almost seems too good to be true. I've been starting to think about buying a new car and recently learned that the 4th generation TL was available in limited quantities with the 3.5L V6 and a 6-speed manual transmission.
